Guided Meditation--The Five Touchings

A spoken version of what can be deeply healing

Welcome to the second From the Pure Land podcast. The first—Love Is a Many-Faceted Thing, on September 6—was not entirely intentional. I started writing the post about aspects of love and decided to record and add a short video of a guided Metta (Loving-Kindness) Meditation. I then discovered another reason why so many writers love Substack. Recording and adding the video was easy.

And, oh, by the way, the audio portion immediately became a podcast I could offer through the other usual suspects of podcast-delivery systems. So, the audio version is now available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube Podcasts, Pocket Casts, and via RSS feed to whatever app you use.

I’ll continue writing my regular From the Pure Land posts, but once a week or so, I’ll create a podcast that you’ll receive the way you’re getting this one. Some will be guided meditations, but others will be interviews or simply an offering of a written blog post in oral form. The audio will be available to a broader audience.

This second podcast (the first fully intended one) is the spoken version of the Five Touchings, my most recent previous post.

Impermanence is a core concept of Buddhism, so we understand that our lives can end in the next moment. But it took me 78 years of life and roughly four decades of practicing Buddhism to realize that I'm already in the Pure Land. Come join me there.
